200 HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Our comprehensive 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training will transform your practice and deepen your understanding of yoga. At the heart of our teaching philosophy is the belief that yoga education is about empowering our students and encouraging their exploration within a safe, supportive and inspired environment while honoring the deep roots of this ancient practice.  Our facilitator team provides a well-rounded and complete teacher training while being inspired in the incredible Rocky Mountains of Summit County, Colorado. Click on each + below for more details on our upcoming spring 2024 training.

  • While you develop your teaching skills, you will also deepen your personal practice and build your understanding on the roots of yoga. This includes experiences around:

    • Sanskrit + Mantra

    • Yoga Philosophy + History

    • Pranayama, Asana, Meditation, + Mudras

    • Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga

    • Anatomy, Subtle Body Energetics, + Ayurveda

    • Teaching Methodology, Sequencing, + Class Creation

    • Teaching in the West + Teacher Ethics

    • Hands on Support + Use of Props

    • Yoga & Pregnancy

Participants will graduate prepared to teach a variety of yoga styles including Meditation, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Align & Flow, Pranayama, and Hot Yoga.

  • Our teacher training programs take place between Meta’s two studios in Breckenridge and Frisco, Colorado. This gives the variety for students to be prepared to teach in a variety of studio styles.

Sessions occur around public studio classes. On some days, public studio classes are incorporated into the training as a way of displaying real-time application of concepts discussed in lecture.

    Sample Weekly Schedule
*** times are approximate and subject to change ***

    Tuesdays 12:30 - 3:30pm
    Wednesdays 9:00am - 5:30pm
    Thursdays 12:30 - 6:30pm
    Fridays 10:30 - 6:30pm
    Saturdays 9am - 5:30pm
    Sundays 10:30 - 5:30pm

  • Based on our knowledge of adult learning theories, we find immense value in a steady pace of training. Just the right amount of time each day with space between days allows for information to be mentally absorbed and gives time for appropriate rest and processing of new ideas. The teachers we are aiming to help create are not looking to run a sprint to the finish-line of teaching yoga, but instead are prepared to run a marathon where energy is conserved for efforts down the road of teaching yoga.

    April 29 - May 17, 2025
    May 27 - June 15, 2025

Four of these weekends are dedicated to immersions in different styles of yoga. These immersion trainings are open to the public to enroll in and are included in the registration and cost of the YTT. They include:

    • Learn to Teach Yin Yoga: May 18

    • Sequencing Strategies: May 31 - June 1

    • Teaching Hot Yoga: June 7 - 8

    • Yoga & Pregnancy: June 14

  • I ALREADY HAVE A 200-HOUR TRAINING, BUT I AM DRAWN TO SOME TOPICS YOU ARE COVERING WHICH ARE NEW TO ME. IS IT STRANGE TO TAKE A SECOND 200-HOUR?

We developed this training curriculum to give a full view of all yoga has to offer beyond asana as a way of growing very well rounded yoga teachers, rather than fitness instructors. Your community may be requesting more lunar practices, solar practices, mental journeys, or a combination. We hope to help you find the balance and ease to shift between those options. Regardless of where and when you took your other training, if this curriculum interests you, we are happy to have you. All students work in a collaborative model, and participation in all coursework is required, even if you are already familiar with the content area.

As an alternative, our three training immersion weekends that cover Yin Yoga, Sequencing Strategies, and Teaching Hot Yoga are available as standalone enrollments. They all do count towards Meta’s 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training for those wanting to dive deeper into their abilities to teach and train others.

THE COURSEWORK IS INTERESTING TO ME, BUT I HAVE NO INTEREST IN TEACHING YOGA. AM I REQUIRED TO TEACH?

Anyone interested in learning is invited to participate in the teacher training, regardless of their interest in ultimately teaching. In our collaborative learning model, full participation in practice teaching is required of all attendees. For those that prefer to ease in slower, we offer a 100 Hour Yoga Training, which overlaps the first half of the 200 Hour YTT. All 100 Hour participants have the opportunity to continue on for the second half if they feel called after the program starts.

WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO STUDIO CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE TRAINING?

Yes, an unlimited yoga membership to Meta’s two studios will be given to all trainees throughout the training.

I HAVE A CONFLICT WITH A CLASS DATE - WHAT IS YOUR ATTENDANCE POLICY?

In accordance with our philosophy that adult learning is voluntary and autonomy is essential, we require notice only that you cannot attend a session and respectfully request that you do not share the details of why you will be absent. Students who miss a session are invited to connect with their peers to receive any learning they missed. Missed homework items will be communicated and expected to be submitted on schedule. Some make-up hours will require students to attend a specific public class. If make up work requires any one-on-one connection with a teacher, student will be required to pay a private session rate at $108 per hour.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS OR PAYMENT PLANS?

Payment plans are available to all students, and students are not financially penalized for requesting payment plans. We are happy to work with you to make your payments leading up to the start of the training, completing full payment by April 10th.

Students from marginalized communities are invited to apply for Meta's Seva Scholarship. Details can be found lower on this webpage. If you would like to support a scholarship recipient, you are invited to purchase new copies of the textbooks used in our training.

WILL I BE A CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHER AFTER THIS TRAINING?

Our training far exceeds the rigorous standards of the Yoga Alliance, of which our school is a registered program with. Graduates from our school can also apply to register with Yoga Alliance if they desire. There is no organization that certifies yoga teachers, although certain lineages require a teaching assessment to complete a particular training.

  • $2,950 - full payment received by April 10th

*** $150 discount if paying by check or cash ***

Early Registration Bonus: Pay in full by January 15 to receive 1 massage to be scheduled in Breckenridge April, May, or June and the 3 required training books

  • Yoga props are plentiful at our training locations, but some students prefer to buy some to have at home for self-practice.

Three books will be utilized in the training. All of these books can be found for purchase at Meta Yoga.

    • The Heart of Yoga by TKV Desikachar

    • Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff

    • The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga by Bernie Clark - needs to be read by May 18
